Only 3 more days until I am a single parent no more. Thank goodness for grandparents who are willing to take my children from me for a few hours.

(A hot)Day at the park
Look who graduated to the big table. No more highchair for this big boy.
And Grace graduated to a regular chair. She decided to pick an entirely different spot at the table.
After breakfast we headed over to the park. Don't they look thrilled? Luckily, there is not a picture of me in there. It must of been 300 degrees outside, but we persevered.
Things improved once we actually got there. I can't believe how big Grace is getting. Her feet easily hit the ground when she swings in this swing and she has to make an effort not to let them drag. Just a year ago she could barely touch the ground with the tips of her toes.
No problem for Lucas, but I bet by next year he'll be touching ground as well.
Grace got tired of swinging and decided to help me push. Maybe next time I can just drop the two of them off....
Waiting (rather impatiently) for mommy to help her navigate the balance beam.
Someone found a stick, a drumstick.
Both of them driving (me crazy, well not right then but this afternoon---don't ask).
Trying to walk across the bridge. He actually made it all the way across by himself. Pretty good considering that it's pretty wiggly.
Grace had to show him how it's done and beat him across.
Hanging on for dear life. This is not the best playscape for those who have just learned to walk. Each of the beams are rounded so that you really have to balance on the middle of them. I guess that's why they have the other play ground too.
Grace testing her (and mommy's) limits.
After playing, we decided to color on the basketball court.
I got this picture of Lucas by lying to him and telling him to look at the airplane in the sky. He's all about airplanes and birds right now. There wasn't one but I figured the picture was worth a little white lie. And that's where his mistrust in his mother began.
And of course we played hopscotch which for me was more like shufflescotch. I'm too old to hop these days. And yes, I was sober when I drew it. Blame it on the heat.
Lucas added a new element to our game---the blocker.
Last, we blew bubbles.
Here they are running all over the court to catch the bubbles.
And that was the end of the park except we hung out a little longer to watch the squirrels. My picture of the squirrel chowing down on some weird fruit/large tennis ball thingy didn't turn out. Oh, well.
