When I took out the trash today I noticed an old Burger King crown in the garage and thought it might be fun to make our own crowns. I used the BK crown as a template. After cutting out one, I decided that Lucas and I didn't need one after all---too much work. And yes, I did actually consider cutting one out for myself so that I could decorate it. Don't I get to have fun too? I had to be content with just gluing the puff balls with the hot glue gun for Grace. She glued them first with Elmer's and then I added the hot glue to expedite the process.

Admiring herself in the mirror.

I thought the pipe cleaners added a special, regal touch.

After the crown making we were off to the park near our house. It's pretty nice especially since they replaced one of the slides and added more wood chips to the playscape. I only got one picture (or should I say multiple pictures of one pose) because Lucas was all over the place making me just a tad nervous. The highlight was definitely the seesaw.

After the park we headed to the Hoffbrau Steakhouse for some dinner. Look who fell asleep. Actually, they both fell asleep on the way to the restaurant. You should've heard Grace snoring! I guess they seesawed a little too much. (I know they are wearing different clothes, but I changed them because they were so sweaty from the park.)

Waiting for the steaks.

Lucas still enjoying his nap....

until the food came. Look how huge the "fries" were. Yumm.

The Hoffbrau is an old (I think 75 years old) restaurant that I had not been to in at least 20 years. It had not changed at all---the tables, the decor, even the grill was the same. Weird. The food was good but not something you could eat on a daily or evenly monthly basis without pretreating with some lipitor or other cholesterol lowering drug.
