A day in the life

I've read some blogs myself and know that many have some sort of theme for their posts. This is not one of those blogs. Sorry. I wish that my days could be organized into a nice tidy post but mostly it's just random. We are a random family and I love to capture it all because I know that it will be gone all too soon.
So here's our day....started out with the kid's dressing up in boas (actually Grace was wearing a lei). As soon as I saw them running around in Grace's room with them on, I ran to grab my camera but of course had a hard time finding it. By the time I got back, Lucas had already had enough of the boa (it's rather scratchy) and was racing toward me so I could take it off. I'm not even sure how he got it on or if Grace put it on him. Notice all the feathers in the background. I picked up several throughout the family room and Grace's bedroom. Needless to say this was the only picture I got of him with it on---him running off and Grace trying to grab him.
Since Lucas was in no mood for a photo shoot, I had to take another of just Grace. The lei is almost as big as she is.
Later, we headed over to the grandparent's for a quick swim. A much better (and cooler) idea than going to exercise at the Hike and Bike trail (what crazy person does that in the middle of a summer day anyway?).
Lucas and Grandpa were in the pool before Grace and I even stepped outside. Funny how much Lucas enjoys the pool now.
And here are some after pool shots. My camera is on it's last leg and I didn't want to risk getting it too close to the water or maybe I should.......
He still has leftover sunscreen on his face. I love how his little belly pokes out from under his shirt as though it shrunk up in the pool.
On the way home. Enjoying some m&m's and a movie. I love those headphones!
Just milk for Lucas. He passed out about 2 seconds after this picture.
Once we got home, we got dinner ready for our little dinner party with Grandpa, Grandma and Nina. Steve grilled some chicken and I made rice, carrots and asparagus. It turned out nice even thought it was 30 minutes late but that's almost a given.
Grandma even got to read Grace her bedtime story. A treat because Grace asked for her specifically. Grandma even put Lucas to bed. Maybe we should have more dinner parties....
And that was our random day from boas to bedtime stories.
