Today was my dad's 62nd birthday---happy birthday. The kids and I made him some cupcakes (his request). Grace poured the water and Lucas poured the oil. He was so proud of himself. Then we took him to lunch at Burger King. Yes, we love him that much! Then we gorged ourselves at Serrano's for dinner.

Lucas and Grandpa after dinner. Lucas spent most of his time putting his food including his whole banana into the tortilla warmer. He's into lids these days.

A quick trip to the cave (Grandma's closet) with the flashlight.

Grace decorated the cupcakes (of course).

Somebody is already trying to get into the cupcakes. So naughty!

Helping Grandpa blow out the candles. Look how hard Lucas is trying.

It didn't take him long to dig in.

Hooray for cupcakes!

Grandpa's turn for a cupcake.

Watching Grandpa open presents.

Mom got dad these boots to wear down to the creek. Lucas was too short to try them own but Grace wasn't---she was pretty wobbly in them though.
The best part of the night was the "program" that Grace and Lucas (as the back-up clapper, the very excited back-up clapper) put on singing "Happy Birthday" and Grace's self composed song about being cheered up by rainbows, unicorns and dancing ballerinas.
I've got to figure out how to put video on here.
