When we first got there, they were announcing overhead that Thomas was approaching the station. We ran to see him coming down the track. Doesn't he look like the nicest train you've ever seen? What a happy train.
They were excited to see him. Lucas was chanting "choo-choo, choo-choo".
With their engineer hats and Daddy.
They had lots of other things to do other than ride the train. Our ride was the last one so we headed over to the "imagination station" where they had wooden train tables set up, tattoos, coloring and stamping activities.
For whatever reason, they did not want to leave the coloring area. Usually coloring only interests them for a few minutes. Maybe they were overwhelmed or something. Hmmm.
The also had a hay maze which was nice because it was short enough to see your kids but tall enough that most kids could not really see over. Grace wanted nothing to do with it other than climb up the hay wall and balance.
There was also a small petting zoo with a rather big calf who had thick, curly hair which reminded me of Lucas's hair before we got it cut. He must be part cow.
They entertained themselves by stomping on this storm drain cover.
On the way to ride the train.
Grace had her ticket ready.
Lucas and I got a nice seat by the window. Actually, they're all window seats.
Daddy wrestling with the kids to get a picture. Lucas does not sit still anymore.
Getting a good look at the scenery outside. Contrary to their website FAQ's there was no food or drink allowed on the train. Needless to say, it was a long 25 minute trip with Thomas the train music blaring overhead.
A shot down the aisle into the next car.
Here's Grace all dressed up in her engineer cap and my pink scarf.
We survived the trip without throwing anyone out the window. But to be honest, we couldn't open the windows.
And since we were the last ride, we got to run down and get a picture with Thomas. I can't believe that I was able to get one with both kids, with their hats on and looking in the general vicinity of my camera.
Thanks for the ride Thomas!
