Pushing Lucas

Grace decided she needed to get down another (1 of 3) stroller for her baby. Lucas couldn't not resist playing "baby". As soon as she got the stroller open he started backing up into it. Hilarious. If you can't tell he doesn't fit. The stroller overfloweth so to speak. She gave him a short ride around the room. This isn't the best angle (it's the only angle) to show the smile on his face.A very short ride. See the indentations in the carpet left by the wheels. Tee-hee.
She's giving him a hug, not strangling him. "I love my baby brother." For now anyway. He had a lot of trouble getting out of the stroller in fact I had trouble getting him out. The jaws of life were not required but might be good to have on hand for next time.
Just to give you an idea of the chaos.....on a good day. This was what was going on in the family room shortly after my dad had picked up the toys. It doesn't take long for them to make a whole new mess.
Anyone know the number for a live in maid?

Hey wait, that's my phone number.....

Busy Day

What a busy day we had. We spent the morning making cupcakes and decorations for the 4th of July party. No picture of the finished product because, well, we didn't finish them yet. Maybe they'll be ready for next year? That's the way it goes.
Then we went to Chuck E. Cheese with Grandma and Grandpa. I'm so proud of Grace for getting close enough to the rat that I could actually take a picture. She loves him but said later "Mommy Chuck E. doesn't talk, does he? It's because he hasn't grown up yet like Lucas." Works for me. Let's just hope that Lucas's front teeth aren't that big when they come in.
Lucas did not fare so well. Grandpa had to do the quick turn around to get the picture.
This was by far Grace's favorite ride. She could've spent all of her tokens on it. Yeehaw!
Lucas did a good job riding too.
Taking Stewart Little for a ride.
Grandma catching a ride too.
Enjoying the spoils of all the 50 tickets they won (plus the $2.20 I pitched in as they were 220 tickets short!). I love how Bubby is just shoveling it in. Hurry before anyone sees me.
Yeah, we saw you stinker. Now it's Grace's turn to shovel it in.
Overall, a fun but tiring day.

Dancing in the Rain

We got some rain today (again). Grace got so excited when she heard it coming down. I told her we could go outside and "splash-splish" like Piggie and Gerald (characters in a new book we got yesterday at the library about two friends who make the best out of a rainy day). What a coincidence! At first a little timid, with umbrella and flip flops.
Then a full out rain dance sans umbrella and flip flops.
Hopping and skipping.
Hooray for rain!!! Can you tell that it hasn't rained in a while? (ok, so it did rain yesterday but before that it hadn't rained in quite some time.)
Bubby thought he'd give it a try. I love how he bends his head down as soon as he feels the rain.
So surprised that he actually go out into it.
No dancing, skipping or hopping for him, just sweeping. He's no nonsense (and no relation--ha!).
So sad to say good-bye to the rain. I think he's just really upset to say good-bye to the broom. Strange boy. Hope everyone else enjoyed the rain. I did because now I don't have to water the grass tomorrow (or more accurately, I don't have to feel guilty about not watering the grass tomorrow)!

Spray park fun

We spent most of the afternoon at the water park. Perfect for today's 105 degree record temp. Most of the park is in the shade, thank goodness. Running around with me not far behind.
I had to go first to convince Grace to run through the sprayers. I wasn't wearing a bathing suit. The things I do for my children. Of course having to wear a bathing suit would have been worse, I think (ha!).
It didn't take her too long to get used to the water after that.
Lucas staring at the magic post. When the water turned off someone had to press the yellow button to start it up again. Maybe he's working on his "mind powers".
This counts as a bath, right?
So in love with pouring. He couldn't get enough of it.
Taking a break.
Washing his hands.
Grace's turn.
Enjoying a quick drink together. I'm thinking I need to start posting some pictures of them pushing each other, lest you think they are always this well behaved around each other. My job is hard, really it is...
