Welcome to my first blog!! I'm happy to finally be able to scratch this off my to do list. Ever since I got this hand me down laptop, I've been dying to start a blog. I'm not sure exactly why except that it gives me an easy way to document all the chaos that is my life. I'm no Britney Spears but sometimes I wonder if my family will show up for an intervention one night with a psychiatrist and ambulance in tow.
So here's what Grace and I did today during Lucas's nap---we made tortillas. Or should I
say we attempted to make tortillas? Grace was so excited when I told her. I let her pour (her new passion) all the ingredients (okay, so it's just flour and water but still) into the bowl and mix it. She kept singing "then we knead it, we knead it, we knead it, knead it, knead it..." (from a PBS song she's heard about making bread/dough, I think). So cute. Of course she would not dare stick her hands into the bowl until it was well formed into dough. Get her hands dirty? Are you kidding?
She really tried to get the balls right but kept pressing too hard. Guess we need some more play doh in our lives which is difficult since Lucas really likes to eat it or at least chew on it.
Here are some on the stove. Let me know when you've stopped giggling. Did I mention that this was our first attempt and without a tortilla press? Excuses, excuses.
They were just a tiny bit stiff but were still edible. Amazing what a little butter can do.
When Lucas finally woke up from his nap he ate one too and he only has 2 teeth!
